I made these lip balms, not initially wanting to start a company, but because I needed to find a lip balm that worked for me. I suffer from very dry lips that would crack and bleed and as a result scab especially in winter months and in the heat. I have used most well known brands and found that although some may work for a little while I would have to apply a really thick layer or keep reapplying numerous times during the day. I even used to apply Vicks Vapo rub or Olbas oil onto my lips at times in desperation. I eventually decided to try making my own, thinking that if I bought some raw ingredients at least I would be able to tweak the formulas to suit something that would work for ME!
After doing a lot of research into ingredients and ratios of formulas and a lot of messed up lip balms, I finally created a formula that I liked. This first batch was unscented. I wanted to trial flavours but I wanted to include ingredients that would add to the softening and nourishing properties of the lip balm. So again after a lot of research and trials I settled on two flavours; Spearmint and Menthol. I made small batches of each and gave some out to friends and family. It was after hearing how much they loved my lip balms that I decided to pursue selling.
