I was having a good look through some old photos that cropped up on Facebook and began thinking of the love/hate relationship I have with my skin. Having now been tagged in hundreds of photos over the years, the first thing I look at is my skin. I learnt to love the ‘detag’ button over the years.

From this in 2007                                                               to this in 2010…

At school I never really suffered from acne but from age 17, it hit me. Not only me, but my sister too. Her acne was so severe that she ended up on a difficult programme of the seriously strong drug Roaccutane. We both wouldn’t leave the house until we’d used layers of expensive foundation to cover our acne and our scarring, it was a vicious cycle – we were clogging up our pours, in turn leading to more acne.

It wasn’t until my friend introduced me to Dermalogica that my skin really started to clear. A Dermalogica specialist recommended the following routine for me:

    1. Starting with Pre-cleanse, which was like heaven when it helped to remove the thick foundation I used daily.
    2. The Dermal Clay Cleanser, for my congested skin, I still love the ‘tingling’ sensation it has, is there any better sign to say a product is working?
    3. A good scrub with Daily Microfoliant, this takes a bit of getting used to but has been key in helping to smooth my scarring, in particular on my forehead.
    4. A spritz of Multi-Active Toner – possibly the easiest/quickest beauty product ever!
    5. Finally, an application of Active Moist. Moisturiser is a tricky product when you suffer from oily skin but this stuff just absorbs in to your skin, unlike other moisturisers I’ve tried.

Yes, I still suffer from the odd break-out, but overnight clearing gel usually comes to the rescue. The way my skin is now means I can pop out to the shops with no makeup on without feeling like a social pariah. Having my friends comment on how good my skin is these days means the world to me (sad – but true!).

Although Dermalogica isn’t the cheapest skincare brand on the market, the quality & expertise in the products make it a worthwhile investment. Not only does it last for ages- Jersey Beauty Company is probably the cheapest place you’ll find it!

I am so pleased that you have found Dermologica and it makes you happy, but in my eyes you and your sister are beautiful decent people, with masses of personality, charisma and great to be around. I am a lucky Dad. xx

Dermalogica has been a wonderful help to bring out your inner beauty , which has always been there ! In just a short time it has transformed your skin and given you back your confidence. Many more people could benefit, if only it wasn”t such a well-kept- secret.
